Ghorepani Poonhill
Ghorepani Poonhill trek is one of the most popular trekking routes among tourists as it is an easy trek and offers a beautiful view of the massive mountain ranges of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri range. One of the highlights of this trip is to climb the PoonHill (3210 m), from where a spectacular view of the Himalaya can be observed. In this trek, we also enjoy a very beautiful view of the sunrise or sunset. Apart from that, the diversity of flora and fauna together with the warm-hearted local people and the memorable typical lifestyle of Gurung and Magar people make this trekking route, one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal.
The trek from Ulleri follows the Ghorepani – Poonhill Trail with the best views of Annapurna South (7,219 m), Hiunchuli (6,434 m), and some other peaks. Day 7 is the most important day on the way to the magnificent viewpoint Poonhill at early dawn, where we can enjoy the enticing view of the sunrise over the Annapurna massif with its shiny peaks: Dhaulagiri (8,167 m), Annapurna I (8091 m), Annapurna Fang (7,647 m), Annapurna South (7,219 m), Hiunchuli (6,434 m) and Dhampus summit (6,012 m). The hiking trails lead on the same route from Nayapul to Nayapul through dense forests, paved paths, and suspension bridges along Ulleri and Tikhedhunga. and then drive back to Pokhara on the same route.
The trails of the trek are so moderate that it is feasible for all physically healthy trekkers in every season. Nevertheless, we recommend trekkers to hike in spring and autumn to enjoy the spectacular view of the sunrise and snow-capped mountains from the best vantage point: Poonhill.
