Gosainkunda Lake
Gosainkunda Lake trek, 4380 m, is one of the short and easy trekking routes in the Langtang region of Nepal. Gosainkunda Lake is a holy lake located in Langtang region of Nepal. This can be categorized as a short, easy and scenic trek situated near Kathmandu. Since the path is easily accessible and close to Kathmandu, it is very popular with trekkers. The route takes you north of the Kathmandu Valley to one of the most sacred Hindu lakes, Gosainkunda Lake.
In addition, there are several lakes in this region, among which Gosainkunda Lake, Saraswati Kunda and Bhairab Kunda are the three main lakes. You can also enjoy fantastic views of the Ganesh Himal Range (7,429m), the Manaslu Range (8,156 m), Langtang Lirung (7,227 m) and many Tibetan peaks. The entire Langtang region is both beautiful and culturally rich.
Mainly people from Tamang communities live here who are strongly influenced by Tibetan customs. You will get to know the tradition, culture and way of life of the locals. The trail includes lush fir, rhododendron and pine forests as well as lush flora and fauna. The preserved natural beauty, the divinity in the air and the remoteness of the region have made Gosainkunda Lake trek even more adventurous. This is a perfect package for those who have little time and want to experience the beautiful landscapes of the Himalayas.
Gosainkunda Lake trek is relatively easier than other treks like Everest Base Camp trek or Annapurna Base Camp trek. The likelihood of altitude sickness is also very low compared to other hikes, as the altitude gradually increases every day.
