Langtang Gosainkunda
Langtang Gosainkunda Trek is one of the popular treks in the Langtang region. North of Kathmandu valley lies Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung. Nestled at the foot of these Himalayan ranges is a beautiful, secluded, valley filled with nature‘s bounty. The region is culturally rich, mostly inhabited by Tamang and Sherpa communities and their tradition, rituals, life-styles, cultures spiritually appeal to anyone’s mind. The Langtang region is protected as Langtang National Park. The rare red pandas lurk in dense lichen-draped rhododendron thickets, heards of blue sheep graze the alpine meadows and lammergeiers glide over glaciated valleys amidst a scenery of lofty Himalayan peaks. The Langtang valley is aptly called “the valley of glaciers”, monasteries and a sacred lake Gosainkunda.
In this trekking trail, trekkers can witness awesome and breathtaking views of snowy great Himalaya’s peaks like Langtang Himal (6581 m), Langtang Ri (7246 m), Lakpha Dorje Kimsung (6745 m), Ganesh Himal 1 (7406 m), Ganesh II (7150 m), Ganesh III (7130 m), Yala Peak (5560 m), Ganjal Chuli (5844m), Langshisa Ri (6310 m), Morimoto peak (6750 m), Pongen Dopku (8930 m), Tembthang (5702 m), Salbachum (6707 m), Kyungka Ri (6979 m), Langtang Ri (7205 m), Chusmodo (6508 m). In addition, rivers such as Trishuli, Bhote Koshi and other small streams captivate a person’s eyes and mind. Apart from these, beautiful forests of Pine, Bamboo, Rhododendron and others trees and plants, landscapes, glaciers, waterfalls and wild animals are some other attractions of the trek.
Programme itinerary :
Day 1 : Arrive at Kathmandu (1400m) / Meet and Greet
Upon arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport, our representative will warmly welcome you and escort you to your hotel for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Kathmandu Sightseeing and preparation for trekking
Morning wake-up and breakfast in hotel.
Our guide will meet you in your hotel and brief you about the upcoming Langtang Gosainkunda trekking. He will guide you through all the formalities and necessary paper-works required for the trekking.
After that, we then do a Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley of famous UNESCO world heritage sites like Boudhanath, one of the largest Stupas in the world; Swayambhunath, a famous monkey temple and Pashupatinath, a sacred Hindu temple complex. Apart from Sightseeing, we also get TIMS card and permits for our trekking on this day. In the evening, we do initial preparation for the trekking.
Overnight at Hotel.
Day 3 : Drive from Kathmandu to sybru besi (1462m) 7-9 hours drive
After breakfast, From Kathmandu, we take 7 – 9 hours’ drive to Syabru Besi. Reserved bus in the morning leaves for Syabru Besi. We take our lunch on the way at a local restaurant. Upon arrival at Sybru Besi, we end our long day and take rest at the guesthouse.
Overnight at Guesthouse.
