Overview

Mohare Danda (3,300 m) is a rewarding ridge-top viewpoint in the Annapurna region, offering one of the finest panoramic perspectives of the western Himalayas. Rising above the hills of Myagdi, it provides uninterrupted views of Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, and surrounding snow-capped peaks, especially striking at sunrise and sunset when the mountains glow in shifting shades of gold and crimson.

The journey to Mohare Danda follows a peaceful trail through rhododendron and oak forests, traditional Magar villages, and open ridgelines that gradually reveal the grandeur of the high Himalayas. Unlike more crowded routes, this trek offers a quieter, more immersive experience where the rhythm of walking is accompanied by forest sounds, mountain air, and wide Himalayan horizons.

Mohare Danda is also known for its community-based eco-tourism model where local villages actively support and manage trekking lodges. This approach not only preserves the natural environment but also provides meaningful cultural interaction along the way. The experience here is simple, authentic, and deeply connected to local life.

A stay at Mohare Danda is centered around the mountains themselves, with early sunrise views, calm alpine evenings, and a sense of solitude above the valleys below. It is an ideal destination for trekkers seeking a less commercial, more sustainable alternative within the Annapurna foothills without compromising on Himalayan scenery.
